ABOUT
Shibbee Player is a revolutionary offline streaming app designed to solve the pressing issue of movie piracy, particularly in the Hausa film industry. In an era where piracy has heavily impacted film markets, Shibbee Player offers a secure platform for filmmakers to distribute their content while protecting their revenue. Unlike YouTube, which is geared toward content creators and offers limited income for films and series, Shibbee Player ensures that every viewer becomes a buyer.
As the developer for Shibbee Player, I was responsible for designing and building the Android app from the ground up using Java and other technologies. My role included:
- Developing the core functionality: Ensuring that the app allows users to watch movies offline while implementing strong encryption to protect the content from piracy.
- Implementing a secure payment system: Users can purchase movies through a prepaid card system, which I integrated seamlessly into the app for a smooth user experience.
- User interface and experience: I crafted a user-friendly interface that is intuitive and easy to navigate, even in areas with limited access to technology.
- Advanced media protection: Leveraging encryption technology, I ensured that all movie files are protected and can only be played within the Shibbee Player app, preventing unauthorized sharing or recording.
This project allowed me to work closely with Shibbee Ventures to deliver a solution that addresses a critical need in the Hausa film industry, providing filmmakers with a secure, profitable distribution platform.

Objective:
